Title: Listen & build
Summary: The participants are divided into groups of 5. One of them is blindfolded and has to use the blocks to built something under his/her partners instructions
Objectives: Active listening and attention
Materials / Equipment needed: Blocks, legos
Group size: Any size
Duration: 30 minutes
Step-by-step instructions: Divide the group into teams of five using blindfolds. The facilitator instructs each team to build a structure with the Lego blocks. However, the facilitator provides limited information on what the finished structure should look like.
Reflection and evaluation questions: The facilitator through reflection asks the participants to explain what difficulties they faced regarding the construction and the collaboration amongst the members of each team. The facilitator also will invite the participants to refer to the fact that they were blindfolded. How difficult it was? Is it feasible to work out such activities when vision is missing?
Possible risk factors: Remove all obstacles from the space
Variations: No variation needed for different age groups
