Title: Chain of names
Summary: The Vi facilitator will ask the participants to form a circle. Each participant will say his or her name and basic characteristics before moving on to the next participant. After this, each participant will take turns saying the name of each member of the group. You can go faster and faster or change direction from time to time to do it differently.
Objectives: To get to know the names and some characteristics of the group. Raise awareness among sighted participants.
Materials / Equipment needed: Blind folds
Group size: Any size
Duration: 15 minutes
Step-by-step instructions: The Vi facilitator will give sighted or visually impaired participants blind folds. Instruct all participants in the group to form a circle. There will be a sighted person to help if necessary. Each participant will say his or her name and basic characteristics before moving on to the next participant. After that, each participant will take turns saying the name of each member of the group. You can go faster and faster or change direction from time to time to make it different. Finally, you can do it without the eye mask to be able to appreciate the difference.
Reflection and evaluation questions: How did you feel when you did the activity without the mask over your eyes? What difficulties did you encounter?
Possible risk factors: Remove all obstacles from the space
Variations: No variation needed for different age groups
